Adopting a Friend

Adoption fees for our animals are $85.00 dogs, and $50.00 for cats. This adoption fee includes current on DHPP, deworm, rabies if age appropriate, heartworm test if age appropriate and spay/neuter for dogs. For cats, FVRCP, rabies, deworming, feleuk/fiv test and spay/neuter.

Microchipping is available for an additional $15.00.

We will do our best to process your application within 48 business hours and contact you by phone or email. We work to ensure each pet is going to a safe, secure, forever home! Please be patient with this process. If you are out of state, we welcome your application. We do out of state adoptions as long as we can find a colleague to do a home visit (these applications might take longer to process).

Many of the pets listed on our website are located at the Mercer County Animal Shelter (link here to address 896 Moberly Rd Harrodsburg KY 40330 859.734.5154 M,T,R,F 8-4 W, Sat 8-12) We make every attempt to pull as many animals as we can from the shelter into Humane Society foster care and encourage you to submit an adoption application (link to app) for pre-approval  prior to visiting the shelter. If you are unable to visit during shelter hours and are pre-approved, please contact us through via  email ( need mercerhumane@hotmail.com), and a volunteer will be in touch with you shortly.

So, you can't adopt, then foster for us! We need foster homes! If you see a pet in foster care that you are interested in, please contact us, and we will do our best to facilitate a meeting.
